Purpose & Importance of Wudu (The Spiritual Purity)
The act of wudu consists of washing the face and the fore-arms, and wiping the head and the feet. These six parts of human body -face, both fore-arms, head and both feet are known as “the organs of wudu”.
Wudu by itself is always a recommendable act in Islamic rituals, but it becomes obligatory in certain circumstances. One of such circumstances is the daily ritual prayers; and therefore it is important for every Muslim to know the method of wudu and its rules.
The following is a summary of the wudu
1. Making the intention (niyyat) in one's mind.
2. (Bismillah), Washing the hands and arms
3. Gargling three times
4. Rinsing the nose three times
5. Washing the face three times
6. Washing the right fore-arm three times
7. Washing the left fore-arm three times
8. Wiping the head and clean the ears
9. Wiping the right foot
10. Wiping the left foot
Importance of Wudu for Muslims
Quran says: “O you who believe! When you stand up for ritual prayer (sala), wash your face and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe a part of your head and your feet up to ankles.” (5:6)
And Allâh loves those who make themselves clean and pure and water from urine and stools, after answering the call of nature]. Qur'an - At-Tauba 9:108
"Surely Allah loves those who turn to Him and those who care for cleanliness" (2:22).
For touching the writings of the Qur' an: Allah says,
“None shall touch it except the purified ones.” (56:79)
Hadith
Narrated Nu`am Al-Mujmir: Once I went up the roof of the mosque, along with Abu Huraira. He perform ablution and said, "I heard the Prophet saying, "On the Day of Resurrection, my followers will be called "Al-Ghurr-ul- Muhajjalun" from the trace of ablution and whoever can increase the area of his radiance should do so (i.e. by performing ablution regularly).' "
The Prophet (SAW) said, "Allah does not accept prayer without purification " (Sahih - Muslim and others)

Sahl ibn Hunayf may ALLAH be pleased with him : I felt greatly
distressed by the frequent flowing of prostatic fluid (Madhi). For this
reason I used to take a bath very often. I asked the apostle of Allah
peace_be_upon_him about this. He Peace be upon him replied: Ablution
will be sufficient for you because of this. I asked: O Apostle of Allah ,
what should I do if it smears my clothes. He Peace be upon him
replied: It is sufficient if you take a handful of water and sprinkle
it on your clothe when you find it has smeared it.

Explanation:
Other than urine, there are basically three types of discharges that are released from one’s private organs:
Wadi (a thick white secretion immediately after uniration by some people)
Madhi (a sort of slow release of lubricant just prior to a full sexual discharge)
Mani (a full sexual discharge)
If
only Wadi or Madhi is released, one does not require a ‘ghusl’ or full
bath to purify himself; he must wash his private parts and the part of
his clothes or body where the‘wadi’ or ‘madhi’ has touched, do the wudu,
and he would be available for prayer.
If Mani is released, then it become obligatory to perform a ‘ghusl’ or full bath to purify oneself.

I saw the people (Sahaba) taking the utilized water impatiently and whoever got some of it rubbed it on his body and those who could not get any took the moisture from the others' hands.

When the call was made for the noon (zuhr) prayer, he performed ablution and said the prayer. When the call for the afternoon ('asr) prayer was made, he again performed ablution. Thus I asked him (about the reason of performing ablution). He replied: The Apostle of ALLAH peace be upon him said: For a man who performs ablution in a state of purity, ten virtuous deeds will be recorded (in his favour).

Narrated Ummul Mu'minin Aisha Radi Alllahu Anha : Ablution water and tooth-stick were placed by the side of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him). When he got up during the night (for prayer), he relieved himself, then he used the tooth-stick. English Translation:
Narrated Anas bin Malik Radi Allahu Anhu :I saw Allah's Apostle Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam when the 'Asr prayer was due and the people searched for water to perform ablution but they could not find it. Later on (a pot full of) water for ablution was brought to Allah's Apostle Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam . He Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam put his hand in that pot and ordered the people to perform ablution from it. I saw the water springing out from underneath his ( Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ‘s) fingers till all of them performed the ablution
(it was one of the miracles of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam ).

Hadith which I would not have told you, had I not been compelled by a
certain Holy Verse (the sub narrator 'Urwa said: This verse is: "Verily,
those who conceal the clear signs and the guidance which we have sent
down...)" (Al Quran: 2:159).
I heard the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam saying, 'If a man performs ablution perfectly and then offers the compulsory congregational prayer, Allah will forgive his sins committed between that (prayer) and the (next) prayer till he offers it.
