Dua (Supplications)
The Ruqya Sharia is a special collections of Quranic verses and authentic Prophetic Supplications. With the will and power of Allah, the reading serves as cure for conditions such as seher (Black Magic), Al mass (Touch of shaytan), ain (Evil Eye) and other related ailments.
The muslim scholars have through out the ages advocated that placing reliance upon Allah along with daily readings of Quranic verses and Prophetic supplications are an effective way of protecting and shielding ourselves from all kinds of afflictions and adverse situations in our lives. They help us to attain the Divine help and cure for our distress and ward off evil of His creation. One of the greatest means of protecting and combating oneself against the evil effects of witchcraft, evil eye/envy and jinn is to persist in regularly reciting the Adhkaar (azkaar). Those who have tried these supplications for refuge from Allah on a regular basis (i.e., in the morning and evening, everyday) know their value and benefit.
Dua are more easily accepted when one performs the Faraidh (Obligatory duties including five times salah, fasting in ramadan, hijab et.). None of the Nawafil (voluntary or sunnah) acts can replace the fardh. Therefore, it is mandatory to fulfil all the Faraidh. Those who can read Arabic or transliteration, must read the translation of the dua to grasp its meaning. This way, one would know what one is invoking Allah for. As the Prophet( صلى الله عليه و سلم) said, (to the nearest effect) dua that have been made from heart are more likely to be accepted. This page contains dua for protection, hardship and some adhkaar. All dua and adhkaar are from Quran and sunnah.

Dua for Insomnia
Khalid bin Walid (radiAllahu anhu) reported that once he suffered from insomnia.
The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said to him, “Shall I teach you words that will make you go to sleep when you say them? Say (the below):
“O Allah! Lord of the seven Firmaments and whatever they cover, Lord of the seven earths and whatever they contain, Creator of the devils and whoever they mislead, Be my Protector from the evil of all Your Creatures lest some of them may hasten with insolence against me or transgress the bounds. Honoured is he who is in Your Protection and Blessed is Your Name.”
Dua for Hardship
Allah puts His slave in hardship either to test his faith in Allah and bring him even closer to Him by rewarding the slave for his patience or to punish the slave for his sins.
Do the people think that they will be left to say, “We believe” and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars. Quran 29: 2-3
We will surely test you through some fear, hunger, and loss of money, lives, and crops. Give good news to the steadfast. Quran 2:155
Hardship and adversity is also decreed by Allah as a cleansing of our souls for sins we have already committed. As a result, some of the bad things that happen to us are a direct result of sins we have committed.
Anything bad that happens to you is a consequence of your own deeds, and He overlooks many (of your sins).Quran 42:30
The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever Allah wishes good for, He inflicts him (with hardship).” [Bukhari].
To get through hardship, whether its because of one’s sins or a trial, one must get close to Allah. One must establish five times salah, constantly ask for forgiveness, do adhkaar and make dua. Most of all, one must be patient and realise that everything is from Allah.
“… and give glad tidings to As-Sabirun (the patient).” Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones. Quran 2: 155-157
Who is the One who rescues those who become desperate and call upon Him, relieves adversity, and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is it another god with God? Rarely do you take heed. Quran 27: 62
For truly with hardship comes ease; truly with hardship comes ease. Quran 94: 5-6
Below are a number of supplications that very effective in gaining Allah’s mercy at time of hardship

(After some time) the Nabi (PBUH) stood up and took his way towards his home and I also followed him. When the Nabi (PBUH) reached near the house, I feared that he may enter into the house and I may remain as is, so I started walking heavily. On noticing the sound of my steps, the Nabi asked, ‘Who is there, Abu Ishaq?’ I said, ‘Yes’. He asked, ‘What is the matter?’ I said that you had mentioned about the best of the duaas but then that Bedouin engaged you. The Nabi (PBUH) said, ‘Oh yes, it was the duaa that Zun-noon (Yunus A.S.) said when he was inside the stomach of the fish (the abov dua).

The Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم said, ‘Did you not read in the Qur’aan that We gave him respite (relief) from grief and We give respite to the Believers in a similar way.’ Thus, whoever invokes Allaah through those words, Allaah has promised to grant him relief.
6. It is narrated in Ibn Abi Hatim that Hadhrat Kathir bin Sa’eed said that I asked Imam Hasan Basari (r.a.), ‘What is the Isme Azam (the Great Name) of Allaah through which if He is requested to grant prayer, He grants it?’ He said, ‘Brother, did you not read the statement of Allaah’ and he recited the same two verses and said, ‘My cousin, this is the same Isme Azam (the Great Name) of Allaah through which if He is invoked, He accepts the prayer. And if He is asked for something, He grants it.

Virtue: Hadhrat Abu Huraira (r.a.) narrated that once I went out with the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم with my hand in his hand. He replied that poverty and destitution had made me so. The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلمs aid, ‘I will tell you some words, if you recite them your disease and poverty will diminish. (Those words were the above mentioned duaa.) After sometime when the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم Revisited that place, he found him in better condition and this made the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم glad. He said to the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم that he was reciting those words with frequently since the time when the Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم taught him.
